yellow.gif Domestic injunctions - in practice, the laws preventing reprisals against women who resist domestic violence are often ignored by local courts. What recourse does a woman have?

yellow.gif Gougng the Poor, by Barbara Ehrenreich - an article describing how hospitals both grossly overcharge uninsured patients (in comparison to the insured) AND criminalize their failure to pay up!
yellow.gif PTA advice - from www.aish.com - ever feel helpless to defend your kid in school? Teachers don't always take mothers seriously, do they.
.yellow.gif .Here's a facsimile page taken from a women's website (Voices of Women - a very good community and resource website, by the way!) which you will find very enlightening, especially if you have bought the hormone propaganda promoted by the AMA! Dr. Christiane Northrup is a great lady who was the co-founder of Women to Women, an innovative healthcare center for women in Yarmouth, Maine. Dr. Northrup is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist, and has become a national figure through the books she has written to promote the use of natural estrogens and other hormones contained in foods. She is great debunker of medical myths regarding women's health. She is also a genuinely friendly, caring, intelligent person who does not pull rank! We once interviewed her for the Journal for Living - and had a delightful conversation. You can access her website directly, or take a look at the page I've added to this one. Hers is at:

yellow.gif Care at Home - finding the support and information you need in order to stay at home if you become ill or want to stay out of an institution like an assisted care facility or nursing home. Some of them are pretty awful - and expensive! So unless you're rich, you are going to have a hard time finding help you can afford!

yellow.gif Support for midwives under attack from the medical cops - who come under various names. Recently, a group of Connecticut midwives found our splendid legal article, an astoundingly erudite and well-documented article on birth ("Midwifery is not the Practice of Medicine") from the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism by Suzanne Hope Suarez, with 317 footnotes. Click on the yellow ball to see all our midwifery links, including Suzanne's. Go for it!
